Even though Griselda’s Conway the Machine is working hard on his From King To A God project, he felt the need to respond police brutality and racial injustices in America with the new song.
“Enough is enough. F**k the police! We had enough of the police brutality of black people and systemic racism!!!” says Conway on Instagram while sharing the new Beat Butcha-produced track, titled “Front Lines.”
“In the middle of the COVID pandemic, I have been quarantined finishing up From King To A GOD. The Amaud situation and Breonna situation and now George Floyd has brought me so much pain and anger because I am a black man: a father, a brother, I have two sons. I wanted to give you the mindset from the protesters point of view, and I was able to paint that picture perfectly over this Beat Butcha production.” told Conway to Complex magazine.
Conway opens the verse by calling out people who support Tekashi 6ix9ine: “You so-called real ni**as celebrating rats, Going on YouTube running up these ni**as’ views… I just seen a video on the news I could not believe, Another racist cop killed a ni**a and get to leave, He screamin’ ‘I can’t breathe,’ cop ignoring all his pleas, Hands in his pocket, leaning on his neck with his knees.”
