Slaughterhouse officially called it quits back 2018 due to Joe Budden’s retirement and Kxng Crooked’s departure but last month Lupe Fiasco expressed his desire to replace Joe, but in a new interview with HipHopDX, Royce Da 5’9” rejected his offer:
“It’ll never happen. Nobody can replace Joe. Nobody can replace anybody from Slaughterhouse… It would just be a different group. It wouldn’t be Slaughterhouse, it would have to be a different group. I’m not taking anything from Lupe. If anything, that’s elevating Lupe to where he should be. He’s no group replacement guy. He’s great. He’s not just an MC, he’s a master. So it takes on a completely different form because you have somebody whose personality traits something totally different, has completely different characteristics outside of the booth and that’s not a replacement to Joe. That’s something completely different. They’re two totally different kinds of rappers and two totally different kinds of people. So that’s not a swap.“
But looks like Lupe is not giving up. He’s joking asks Kxng Crooked to start working on new Slaughterhouse album:
