New Interview: Fat Joe talks Eminem collaboration on “Family Ties”

Remy Gelenidze

Today on On the Block, the hosts of Billboard are chatting with this week’s guest – Fat Joe, who is dropping an album Family Ties this Friday, featuring Eminem, Lil Wayne, Cardi B and more. In the interview, Joe shortly talked about Eminem collaboration:

“The album is a loaded weapon. Some of the stuff I say it’s crazy and people cringe but I look at it as 2020 Dr. Dre’s Chronic. It’s undeniable classic. Music is life. When I had beef with 50 Cent, at the prime of the beef he came out with ‘I Get Money’ and I was in the corner dancing to it.”

“This album, it’s like a Hamilton. 10 years from now we could probably make a play of it. Because you got songs, you got features that lead to other songs and right when you hear Eminem and you think you had enough, somebody else comes on and you be like ‘wait a minute, that’s such and such?’ I’m so proud of this album.”

“I’ve always been a big supporter of Eminem. I’ve always been a huge fan. I’ve been telling people this is my last album and I’m about to retire and Em heard it and he was like ‘Yo, I gotta get on this joint.”
