Lizzo becomes first Detroit artist to lead Billboard Hot 100 since Eminem in 2013

Lizzo, the Detroit-born rapper and singer earns her first No. 1 single on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart with her empowerment anthem “Truth Hurts.” The song jumps from No. 3 to No. 1 on chart, dethroning last week’s No. 1, “Señorita,” by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.

Lizzo is the first Detroit artist to lead the Billboard Hot 100 since Eminem and Rihanna’s “The Monster” spent four weeks at No. 1 in December 2013 and January 2014. Watch the music video of “Truth Hurts” below:
