Ice Cube Claims Eminem As Part Of N.W.A. Legacy

This morning, Ice Cube did Twitter Q&A with NME where he talked about ‘Straight Outta Compton’ movie and the legacy of N.W.A. 

Interviewer: “What would you say N.W.A.’s biggest lasting legacy is?”

Ice Cube: “Here is what N.W.A. did, we made it okay for artists to be themselves. We let the world know that you can be just as famous, doing it hard and taboo and dirty and all the stuff they call are music and are art… N.W.A made this all possible, because we was ourselves, we was honest, we didn’t care how big we got, we didn’t care, we just wanted to be ourselves. So that opened up a door. That opened up a door artist like Eminem. That opened up a door for people to produce things like South Park where it’s raw and edgy…”
