Nobody knows why Akon disappeared from mainstream Music industry but there was a time when AK was dominating the charts. “Smack That” with Eminem was one of the biggest hits of 2000s worldwide.
In 2007, Akon gave an interview to a random TV show in which he says Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time:
“I’ll probably have to say Eminem. I would definitely say Eminem… He came from a whole another culture, literally. Mastered it, outsold everybody and then he did every kind of record imaginable. He did comedy record, a party record, sexy record, drama record, theatrical record. He could take any kind of topic and make a song out of it. I have not seen any artist do that yet.”
