An album that sells more than 10 million copies in the United States receives the diamond certification award from Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). We looked through the RIAA charts and we found out that there are only ten hip-hop albums that achieved the diamond status. You can also call the list “The best selling hip-hop albums in the United States” because that’s basically the same. Eminem and 2Pac appear twice in the list. You can check the full list below:

*Albums that have this sign means that it’s a double album. For the double albums, one sale equals two copies. For example: 2 Pac’s “Greatest Hits” actually sold 5.5 million but since it’s a double album (includes two CDs) it counts as 11 million.

1. Eminem – “The Marshall Mathers LP” – DIAMOND – 11.3 million copies.

2. Outkast – “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below” – DIAMOND – 11.2 million copies.*

3. Notorious B.I.G. – “Life After Death” – DIAMOND – 11.1 million copies.*

4. 2 Pac – “Greatest Hits” – DIAMOND – 11 million copies.*

5. Kid Rock – “Devil Without A Cause” – DIAMOND – 11 million copies.

6. Eminem – “The Eminem Show” – DIAMOND – 10.9 million copies.

7. 2 Pac – “All Eyez On Me” – DIAMOND – 10.2 million copies.*

8. Beastie Boys – “Licensed to Ill” – DIAMOND – 10.1 million copies.

9. MC Hammer – “Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em” – DIAMOND – 10.1 million copies.
