On this day, exactly 7 years ago (June 18, 2010), Eminem released his 7th solo studio album Recovery under Aftermath Entertainment, Shady Records and Interscope Records. Originally planned to be released as Relapse 2, the album was renamed to Recovery when Eminem found the music of the new album different from its predecessor.

To honor the 7 years anniversary of this Grammy-winning and multi-platinum album, we have listed 15 facts and accolades that you might not know about Recovery. Check the list below:

Recovery earned Eminem 10 Grammy nominations in one night, making him the first rapper to do it since 2005;

✪  Originally planned to be released as Relapse 2, the album was renamed to Recovery when Eminem found the music of the new album different from its predecessor;

✪ The first single off Recovery, “Not Afraid,” sold 380,000 digital downloads in its 1st week, and became the 16th song in the history of the US Billboard Hot 100 to debut at #1;

Recovery‘s singles: “Love The Way You Lie” and “Not Afraid” went diamond in the United States (each sold more than 10 million copies), making Eminem the first artists in RIAA history to reach that accolade;

Recovery broke the digital record and became the first album in history to sell 1 million digital copies;

Recovery was also the best-selling album in Canada in 2010 selling 435,000 copies; more than double the album in second place;
